White Pine

General Description
The sapwood is a light creamy color with less prominent annual rings than other pines. Color varies from creamy white to pale straw. The wood is straight-grained and has a soft uniform texture. Knotty White Pine provides a beautiful rustic appearance that has been a favorite with people since colonial times.


Working Properties
A versatile wood that is light weight with soft to medium density making it easy to work and machine. Also an excellent carving material.


Physical Properties
A low density wood with low bending, shock resistance, stiffness and compression values, It does not swell or shrink greatly with moisture content changes and displays remarkable durability.
