Door Terms and Conditions

  • All Doors to be unfinished.
  • All prehung doors, single double, and bifolds, will include hinges, jambs, and door stop. Prehung doors will not be bored for locksets unless bore diameter, lockset height, and backset are specified.
  • All prehung doors will be shipped knocked down to avoid damage during transit.
  • Door drawings on the website may not be exactly to scale. Door specifics, for example panel width may vary depending on actual door height and width. Narrow doors and bi-folds will only be 1 panel wide.

Order Requirements, Terms, and Conditions

  • All quotes must be examined carefully. Any errors or customer changes must be noted on the quote form at this time.
    Once examined, you must then sign and return the quote to confirm the order.
  • All quotes are valid for 90 Days, anything beyond that will require that the order be requoted.
  • All change orders or cancellations must be made within 48 hours of placing order. After this period the buyer will be billed for all work and materials up to that point.
  • A 50% deposit is required for all orders. Only upon receipt of a signed confirmation and a deposit will an order be started.
  • A 3% surcharge will be applied to all orders paid using PayPal, or with a credit card. This surcharge does not apply to deposits made with credit cards, if the total order is paid in full with with cash, check, or money order.
  • The remaining balance is due at time of shipping. Failure to remit payment before shipping may result in the order being delayed or stopped. Late payments may result in extra shipping or storage charges.
  • We make every attempt to get orders out in the allotted lead time, however occasionally things happen that are out of our control (breakdown of machinery or acts of god). In addition lead times are quoted F.O.B. Brainerd Hardwoods. Shipping time is not included in the lead time. The lead time is for the manufacturing process only. Orders cannot be cancelled because of time overruns without our consent.
  • If a dispute arises and a resolution cannot be agreed upon by both the buyer and Brainerd Hardwoods, the merchandise in question must be returned in the condition it was received to Brainerd Hardwoods before any refunds, charge backs or replacements will be considered. The customer agrees not to file a credit card charge back for any merchandise that has not been returned to Brainerd Hardwoods in the same condition in which it was received and also agrees that only merchandise found to be in non-compliance with the warranty is eligible for refund or replacement. If returned merchandise is found to be in compliance with warranty, customer is responsible for all shipping charges.

Brainerd Hardwoods offers shipping services through 3rd party carriers as a convenience to the buyer but assumes no liability for damage caused by carriers. Buyer shall hold Brainerd Hardwoods harmless for any damaged merchandise. We crate all of out products by following crating methods approved by our carriers but have no control over how the crates are handled in transit. Brainerd Hardwoods uses 3rd party common carriers. Once merchandise is loaded on carrier’s truck, the damage liability transfers to the carrier. If you have a specific carrier you want to use or if you want to set up your own carrier you must notify us before shipping.

Important Notice

The carrier who delivers merchandise to your door is responsible for loss and damages. Acceptance of the shipment is acknowledgment to the transportation company that the articles delivered by them were in good condition.

Check for any loss of damage immediately. You are responsible for filing a claim with the carrier. The following instructions will improve your chances of a claim settlement with the carrier:

Visible Damage

  • Have deliveryman note on the freight bill the nature and extent of the damage. You must have a damage or shortage notation on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery to support a claim against the carrier.
  • Notify the transportation company office.
  • Do not destroy the box or packaging materials, this may need to be inspected by the carrier.

Concealed Damage

  • If the damage is not noticed until after the freight carrier has left, notify their office immediately. Concealed damage must be reported to the carrier within 2 working days of delivery.
  • Insist that the freight company send someone out for inspection and get a signed copy of the nature and extent of the damage.
  • Do not destroy the box or packaging materials, this may need to be inspected by the carrier.
